Change.org Raises $25M From Big Names for ‘Social Change’ Petition App – Venture Capital Dispatch – WSJ.

Change.org Inc. has raised funding from investors including Bill Gates, Arianna Huffington and Richard Branson for a major expansion designed to make social change as easy as tapping a mobile app.

While other sites, notably Rally.org Inc. and 2Care.com Inc., offer similar fundraising and petition services, Change.org is significantly larger and took the early and somewhat unusual step of becoming a B corporation, a legal status that requires it to uphold certain social goals along with its business objectives.
